Showing llamas

We took our male llama stud, Mr. T, to the Kentuckiana Llama Classic show in Indiana on April 19, 2009 where Mr. T took a 1st place and a 3rd place.

Spring babies are here!!!!

Two of our Angora goats had the cutest little baby girls. Check out our goat's page for more photos of the girls. We are still waiting on our little Pygora goat Thelma, which should be ready any day now.

New to the Ranch:

We purchased two beautiful female llamas, Pacific's Josey and MSF Belle of Louisville, from Country View Llamas in Ghent, KY. This is a wonderful farm that has many Grand Champion llamas, guard llamas and crias, so check out their website at www.countryviewllamas.com. Their knowledge of the llamas and their friendship has been priceless to us here at the Dusty-K-Ranch. Both Josey and Belle are very friendly llamas with gorgeous fiber that is very soft. Check out our llama's page for information and more photos of the girls.

Josey and Gracie
On September 13, 2009, the excitement rose at Dusty-K-Ranch. At approximately 9:00 a.m., Joe made a trip to the barn to check on Josey and the event was starting to occur. Josey was in labor with her first cria. Joe was immediately on the phone to our friends at Country View Llamas for any assistance they could offer. At around 9:30, Amazing Grace was born. What a beautiful little girl!

Spring Shearing:

We have completed our spring shearing. We had a professional come to our ranch and shear all of our angora and pygora goats, and our sheep. We ended up with a lot of fiber. We took photos of our ram, Buckey, and our Ewe, Sugar, before and after shearing. We got more than 30 pounds of fiber from both of them. Wow! That's a quick way to loose weight!
